Color Combo Challenge #234
I focused on the "inked edges" inspiration.
The color swatch:
Silver * Gray * Gray Blue * Beige * Brown
I used Basic Gray card stock for foundation and for stamped images.
Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip for punched accents.
Very Vanilla card stock run through the Big Shot
with the Vintage Wallpaper Folder (120175).
The "distressing" ink (Tea Stain) came from the Distressing Kit which is no longer available.
Punches used: 2-3/8" Scallop Circle (118874)
1-3/4" Scallop Circle (119854)
Stamp sets used: Tiny Tags (118592) - "love"
Collage Curios (129102) from Spring Catalog, available through 5/31/2013 -
the center of the soda pop cap.
Soda Pop Caps (129388) also are from the Spring Catalog.
I'm hoping they pick these up for the new catalog
because they are FUN to use!
The banner made from the Bitty Banners Framelits (129267)
Brad came from the Antique Brads collection (117273)
I think that covers everything.
If not, let me know ... and feel free to ask questions!

Treat Me Like a Queen!
My first submission to Color Combos Galore!
Everything comes from Stampin' Up.
I love those rosettes (5/8" Flower Trim #126869).
They come in "Victoria" (off-white), but it's easy enough to add
color by pressing them into a stamp pad.
At the Dallas Regional, it was suggested to simply put
a rosette on an ink pad and it will slowly draw color up
but I really didn't want to wait!
Nor did I want to run the risk of my ink pad drying out.
This is the color combo challenge:
and the inspirations to use were:
CABOCHONS
ABOUT OR FOR A FEMALE
PASTE OR PAINT
JOURNAL/SENTIMENT ON TAG
I think I covered all 4!
This was super fun and I love to get inspiration to try
somethings outside of my creative box and comfort zone.
I love coral. I especially love SU's Calypso Coral
and I am going to sorely miss it when it retires May 31, 2013.
I'm looking forward to a new set of "In-Colors"
but I wish we could keep this one. And Pool Party. And Lucky Limeade.
The sentiment comes from Favorite Thoughts which is retired.
The stamped flowers are from Language of Friendship (#122752)

Fancy Graduation Card
Girls are so much more fun to design for!!
If you want to know which products I used, feel free to drop me a line.
This color combo has been sticking in my mind for over a week
and I'm glad I finally took the time to work it out.
I still need to play a bit as I'm not totally happy with the leaves.
But at least I got it out of my mind (!!) and onto a project.
This was the inspiration:
... from my other blog.

what the ...
... all the blog hop buttons are not working!
OK ... wow. I have a headache! For some bizarre reason when I copy and paste some of the button codes over on my "gadget" thing-a-ma-bob to the right, those that have the " (quote marks) that paste in italics do not work. o_O Finally figured out if I switched all the italic " in the html markup to non-italic " the buttons work fine.
I think I got them all working ... ie you can see the button AND if you click, it will take you to the blog associated with the button, not just another blank page of this blog.
Does that make sense?? LOL

Masculine Graduation
Making cards for the guys in our lives is not always easy.
We handcraft cards because we love to embellish ...
but dudes don't really care for embellishments.
But they do like texture.
And patterns, preferably geometric patterns.
Stampin' Up!® has this perfect geometric pattern in the Comfort Cafe
Designer Series Paper (DSP) package.
Cut a piece at 4" x 5.25" of the DSP and run through
Big Shot with Square Lattice textured impressions embossing folder.
I love this embossing folder for its look of linen!
The stamp set is "Blue Ribbon" stamped in Midnight Muse
on Very Vanilla cardstock.
The distressed look of this stamp set adds texture.
The center piece is stamped separately and punched with 1 3/8" circle punch.
I used glue dots to adhere the ribbon and a dimensional for the center.
You can step up the inside of the card with a pocket
for cash or gift card!
Fast and easy!

First Post!
I decided to sit and play today!
This card worked up fairly fast and easy
because I kept it simple using
just one stamp set and the 2012-2014 In Color card stock and inks.
The process (the following taken with phone camera)
I wanted to make my own Designer Paper
so I gathered the colors I wanted to use,
the Bloomin' Marvelous Stamp Set
and a sponge.
I first sponged Gumball Green, Midnight Muse
and Primrose Petals onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.
After getting the background the way I wanted
I started to stamp the cute little images in this set.
I did the birds first in Raspberry Ripple;
then the flowers in Midnight Muse;
and finally the leaves in Gumball Green.
Added the sentiment using the Decorative Label Punch
and stamping it in Midnight Muse.
I cut a strip of Primrose Petals and layered
some Satin Stitched Ribbon in Midnight Blue on top.
Added the finished sentiment piece using dimensionals.
Fast and simple.
Of course, me being me, I had to take that last step
of adding the butterfly complete with some rhinestones.
